A matter of performance: it all begins with the cutter bar. The distinctive features of DEUTZ-FAHR cutter bars are connected to productivity and durability. Measuring between 3.6 m and 4.8 m wide, the bars are equipped with a single-piece structure that guarantees excellent weight distribution, stability, long-term durability and reliable performance (irrespective of the cutting width). The large-diameter intake auger, equipped with broad spirals and helically arranged auger fingers, ensures continuous feeding and transfer of the product to the feed passage. Schumacher cutting system: The tandem cutting system features an alternately arranged surface that produces a clean and silent cut with minimal wear and tear. The Schumacher system is based on planetary transmission: an extremely efficient solution for particularly high cutting speeds (1220 cuts per minute) which allows the blade to be guided in a perfectly straight line, guaranteeing superior mechanical efficiency, optimum power transfer and low maintenance costs. Autocontrol: The cutter bar's electronic control guarantees uniform guidance in all types of terrain and harvesting conditions. Furthermore, the system automatically eliminates bar oscillations during transportation in order to optimally protect the combine harvester's mechanics. Pick-up reel: The pick-up reel comprises six robust toothed bars: Made from extremely resilient and flexible plastic, the teeth are individually replaceable and settable at an adjustable angle. The device runs along arms using Teflon guides to guarantee quick, precise hydraulic adjustment of the tooth angle, even during operation. The pick-up reel can be easily adjusted in a vertical or horizontal position to the cab, so that it adapts perfectly to different harvesting conditions.

In the threshing system, the feed passage with a large opening is equipped with feeder bars attached to 3 chains; the support shafts are equipped with toothed guides to prevent jumping between the chain links, enabling continuous machine feeding and preventing the passage from overloading. Feeder channel inversion: The passage and bar's electric reverse shuttle prevents the feed system from overloading.

Thresing or separation

A threshing system that needs no introduction. A sturdy, reliable and highly productive system which treats the product gently throughout the grain separation process. Threshing drum: The threshing drum is 1110 mm wide and has a diameter of 600 mm; it is equipped with eight rasp bars which are screwed for quick and easy replacement and which ensure a perfect threshing process. Crop enters the threshing drum horizontally for uniform, blockage-free feed, additionally, it can be accessed via an opening above the feed passage to facilitate maintenance. Concave: The concave has a wrap angle of 121 degrees, which guarantees maximum threshing and separation efficiency. The distance between the concave and the threshing drum (at entry and exit) can be adjusted independently at the front and rear via convenient levers designed to adapt perfectly to various harvesting conditions. And for crops that are particularly difficult to thresh, a set of manually fitted de-awning plates is also available. There are 3 different single-piece versions available, with wire spacing of 11, 14 and 16 mm. Straw walkers: The 5 straw walkers are closed, enabling every last grain to be separated from the straw. The straw walkers are mounted on special, hermetically sealed, maintenance-free bearings, which reduce noise and power loss and increase the lifespan of the shaft and of the straw walkers themselves.

Cleaning

The turbine allows large amounts of crop to be cleaned; this is then fed back to the grain preparation pan for maximum grain collection without overloading the threshing system. Grain Pan: The single-piece reciprocating grain preparation pan enables perfect layering of straw and chaff: as they are lighter than grain, straw and chaff are immediately blown away by the fan, boosting the performance of the sieves and therefore the cleaning of the final product. Sieves: The sieves are mechanically controlled via levers; equipped with high partition plates, these are easily removed. The powerful turbine fan, measuring 400 mm in diameter, features 44 vanes which blow air along the entire width of the combine harvester: The transverse air flow volume is controlled by deflectors to speed up or delay its delivery to the sieve and to create uniform air flow across the entire length of the box. DGR: The recovery system ensures that the return material is sent back to the grain preparation pan: this solution prevents the threshing system from becoming overloaded and consequently running the risk of breaking or losing material from the straw walkers. Specific friction inserts, which are interchangeable depending on the crop, guarantee an additional threshing effect on the collected grain in order to separate any "half-ears" that inadvertently make it into the sieves. The recovery rate is monitored continuously and an alarm signal warns of overload conditions.

Tank: The grain tank on the C5000 enables long threshing periods thanks to its enormous 4600-litre capacity; it is fed by a lifting channel that minimises the risk of grain being crushed and ensures that the tank is completely filled. Quick grain unloading saves time, while the large engine power reserve means grain can be unloaded during operations without compromising productivity.

Deutz TCD 6.1 L6 T3A engines boast exclusive features which are characteristic of DEUTZ-FAHR products, including power distribution on both sides of the engine. This makes it possible to separate the hydraulic and mechanical functions and to have direct transmission of force without loss of power and without being subject to additional wear. These are powerful and reliable Common Rail engines with 12 electronically controlled valves, which can maintain constant power even when faced with sudden changes in load. The C5205 and C5305 deliver a maximum power of 160 hp (118 kW) and 180 hp (132 kW) respectively. The machine is started up via the multifunction lever that also controls the main functions of the cutting header; the two models are equipped with 3-speed hydrostatic transmission. Three stage transmission: The three-speed hydrostatic transmission means you will always find the right speed for various harvesting conditions, thanks to a simple lever next to the driver's seat. In addition, adequate spacing ensures that there is always plenty of torque on tap to tackle the most difficult traction conditions. The gears of the reduction unit and gearbox are lapped to reduce operating noise without compromising the durability and reliability of the transmission system.

Perfectly integrated into the new design, the Commander Cab EVO offers all the control and adjustment functions necessary to operate the combine harvester, with ergonomically designed controls for a safe drive on the road and in the field. The main couplings (bar, threshing equipment and grain unloader) are activated using mechanical levers to the left of the driver. The performance of DEUTZ-FAHR combine harvesters can be monitored via a performance monitoring system which shows the wind speed, the threshing drum speed and the loss rate. Commander control: All the equipment is arranged clearly and logically within the operator's field of vision, with the controls positioned in order of priority, so that they are easily identified: this solution guarantees simple, immediate and total control over the machine. In particular, the Commander stick controls the cutter bar. The CCM (Combine Control Management) module allows you to monitor the productivity parameters of the combine harvester (total and partial surface worked, hourly productivity and loss rate).
